My main research interests revolve around the application of deep representation learning methods to tumor sequencing data. As part of the Machine Learning Frontiers for Precision Medicine framework, the aim of my PhD project is to explore the use of deep learning methods to analyse cancer-specific cellular contexts to gain insight on mutations that affect key oncogenic signalling pathways.
My academic background in medical physics, gained from my degrees at the University of Turin and University of Trento, is one of the factors that rose my interest in this field of research. After obtaining my MSc in artificial intelligence at the University of Edinburgh, I joined the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems in December 2019.
Aside from the topics that are the focus of my PhD project, my research interests include biomedical imaging and deep generative models.
