Research
Cian is broadly interested in methods that discover meaningful high-level variables from low-level perceptual data. A major focus of his research is on learning in non-stationary environments, where distribution shifts can provide clues about the underlying structure (causal/modular/etc.).
Bio
In 2016, Cian completed his BSc in Computer Science at Maynooth University, Ireland, spending time on an exchange at the University of Toronto. In 2017, he completed his MSc in Artificial Intelligence at The University of Edinburgh, before spending a year as a Research Assistant in Taku Komura’s lab at The University of Edinburgh. In 2018, he started his PhD at The University of Edinburgh, supervised by Chris Williams.
